My life now couldn’t seem so far away from where I was just a few short years ago. From the choices between almost homeless, taking shelter at a safe house for women, to having travelled over 100 miles to London to sleep on a friend’s couch. My escape from the countryside to the big smoke was totally overwhelmed to start with, not to mention I was having a major depressive order. Doctor had me on medications. Treatments at the Sleep Clinic and Psychotherapy sessions did not helped.
I got out of the state after a lot of self improvements and self care. It didn’t take me long to rebuild my life. I’ve found an average job at an University pretty quickly and have worked really hard to buy my first property in London. It needed refurbishment and I was doing majority of the work myself. I still remember the day when a pallet of 25 boxes of floorboards, weighted 203Kg in total showed up by curbside at the street. I’m having to carried them up the staircases to my flat on the 2nd floor. It nearly broke my back!
With perseverance, I’ve achieved my first financial goal late last year and immediately quit from a job that was no longer served me. I am now living the lifestyle that I dream of, no longer the 9-5, no longer the rat race, I get to travel wherever and whenever I want. I have set up a property business, as my logical mind tells me a property business is where financial freedom lies. While I take pride in providing a ‘home away from home’ experience for my multi-national tenants, somehow I procrastinate in expanding the business. I feel something is missing in my heart.
Life coaching has always been on the back of my mind. I first discovered life coaching no long after I settled in London. At that time, I immersed myself into self-development and self care, which I believed was the backbone of me being able to stabilize my depression and improve on sleeping disorder, to having to achieve my goal of quitting the 9 to 5 without having to worry about securing another ‘job’ that I do not desire. There have been a lot of soul searching since quitting my full time job. It was until recently that at Tony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within event, I made a commitment to serve and contribute through coaching people with what I know best. Since then, I’m certified in relationship coaching, NLP, working on my ICF accreditation and hired a top success coach to support me on my journey.
It has never been so clear before, my purpose is to inspire and empower people, letting them know that no matter how bad their past experience or current circumstances, there is always a way to get better. I have turned my pains and struggle into strength and am now answering to that call to empower others to find the strength and courage from within to live life on their terms.
Take a minute to reflect on what is most important in your life.
What is important for you?
What do you dream of doing?
Where do you dream of going?
How are you writing your life plan?
Now, is your life in alignment with those dreams and goals?
If it is not, then I encourage you to really brainstorm to come up with a plan on how to pursue this life you want and deserve. It is all possible.
Much love, Christina
